Architecture
In architecture, grating is a design element that embodies modern aesthetics. Originally known for its industrial applications, grating has now established itself as a fully-fledged architectural element.
Whether used as sun shading, privacy screening, façade cladding or balustrades, grating offers countless design possibilities.
It is available in galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, Corten steel or GRP and can be easily adapted to a wide range of architectural styles – from industrial to ultra-modern.
In terms of sustainability, grating meets current requirements. Thanks to its durability, it needs to be replaced less frequently, and when disposed of, the steel is recycled. Its clean, linear design blends harmoniously into projects that aim to remain visually discreet.
All of our gratings, metal profile gratings, stair treads and staircases offer versatility and creative freedom.
The grating with protruding bars offered by GEI, a variant of press-locked grating, features infill bars that extend beyond the load-bearing bars.
The standard protrusion of these infill bars is 10 mm.
This design gives the grating a comb-like, elegant appearance, enhancing façades or flooring through its distinctive visual effect.
Grating with protruding bars provides increased grip, even in wet conditions, and thanks to the specific arrangement of the louvers, allows for rapid drainage of water and debris.
The spacing and number of load-bearing bars can be tailored to your requirements. The height of the load-bearing bars is at least 25 mm.
