Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is an iron–chromium–nickel alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel press-locked gratings are used in various industries, including the food industry, chemical and petrochemical sectors, pharmaceuticals, as well as wine production and winemaking.
They are easy to maintain and extremely durable.
Depending on their composition, stainless steels are classified into different groups.
GEI Gitterroste offers three types of stainless steel press-locked gratings, available from stock or as custom-made solutions:
| Group | AISI | Material N° | Characteristics |
| A1 | 304 | 1.4301 | Easy to weld and offers good corrosion resistance at normal ambient temperatures |
| A4 | 316L | 1.4404 | Provides optimal corrosion protection in many environments, including chlorinated environments |
| A4 | 316Ti | 1.4571 | Titanium-stabilized, suitable for high temperatures and aggressive chemicals |
Stainless steel 304 withstands temperatures up to 550 °C, 316L up to 800 °C, and 316Ti up to 900 °C.
Typical applications:
Stainless steel 304 gratings: food, pharmaceutical and medical sectors.
Stainless steel 316 gratings: aggressive environments (seawater, saline solutions); suitability for other aggressive substances depends on concentration.
